We invest at the intersection of purpose and profit.

We back founders tackling the biggest global challenge of our time: helping humanity get to a more sustainable planet.

Who We Are

We are thematic, thesis-driven investors.

  • How do we help consumers, corporations, and governments make better data-driven decisions regarding climate and sustainability? Examples in this category include climate intelligence companies such as Clarity and carbon footprint companies such as Commons.

  • How can we turbocharge the shift in consumption behavior towards re-use and recycling? In this category, we look for companies that extend product and resource lifespans, like reuse systems management platform Topanga.

  • How do we help make supply chains for consumer consumption far less wasteful? In this category, we focus on companies like Treedots, which helps reduce food waste, and Super, which simplifies supply chains for consumer goods.

  • How do we rethink the environmental impact of the built environment? This category includes companies that contribute to both sustainability and convenience, including technologies enabling remote work and education like Dialpad and Skillshare, which reduce the need for transportation and physical buildings.

  • How do we improve energy reliability and efficiency, and facilitate the uptake of clean energy? In this category, we look for companies that strengthen and stabilize the electrical grid and improve the management and performance of energy assets.

What We Do

Our business model has remained the same since our founding in 2013.

  • We invest in software or software-enabled businesses.

  • We typically enter at the seed or Series A stage.

  • We lead or co-lead, though we are open to occasionally following.

  • We make a limited number of investments each year to ensure we can fully support our companies.

Our Portfolio

We methodically build our fund portfolios around our theses.

Thesis 2.0:
Climate & Sustainability

Environmentally sustainable behavior change at scale is necessary to fight the climate crisis.

Thesis 1.0:
Global Expansion

The globalized economy presents significant opportunities for tech companies across fintech, education, commerce and SaaS.

Our Impact

We take impact seriously.

While we are a single-bottom-line investor, we consider impact throughout the entire investment process. We assess companies with our impact screen and track the climate impact of our portfolio companies.

  • Positive Impact: How well aligned are the Company’s products/services with Amasia’s thesis, “behaviour change as a means to fight the climate crisis and drive global sustainability?

Intentionality: How core is climate action to the Company’s business model?

Scale: Does the Company have the potential for global scale?

Depth: How significant is the Company’s impact to customers or end-users (e.g., how transformative is it to their carbon footprint)?

Additionality: How additional is the Company’s impact (e.g., compared to competitor product/services and/or existing market trends)?
